hook-up/commissioning, and operations and maintenance services
for:
-
Onshore oil and gas production and treating
facilities
-
Pump, compressor and meter stations
-
Shallow- and deepwater platforms
-
Floating facilities
-
Subsea systems

 |
With Aries, AMEC Paragon's proprietary, database-driven
automated work process for facility design,
- All design work is documented within a centralized database,
from which all drawings and deliverables are developed
- A robust 3D model is developed, including pipe, pipe
supports, cable trays, controls, and proper coping of
structural joints
- Smart piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) are
linked to the 3D model, engineering deliverables and procurement
and expediting databases
- A consistency check between P&IDs, procurement data
and the 3D model is made automatically
- Material lists are automatically updated
- When a change is made in the database, it is "red-flagged"
on all affected documents
- The latest revision of each engineering deliverable
is available via a Web-enabled electronic document management
system, with older versions also available for historical
tracking
- All documents are searchable and cross-referenced by
descriptive "metadata" such as purchase order
number, tag number, line number, etc.
- All data can be shared securely over the Internet
|
The end result:
- Reduced engineering time
- Single-point data entry for all associated deliverables,
reducing human error and rework
- Real-time response to changes
- Control of bulk material quantities throughout the
project life cycle
- Significant reductions in fabrication rework
- Assurance of pre-fabrication accuracy during installation
- Easier commissioning, start-up and operations training

| Signature Project: |
Tarantula Deck and Topsides |
| Customer: |
Anadarko |
| Location: |
South Timbalier 308, Gulf of Mexico |
| Design Capacity: |
30,000 barrels/day oil, 30,000 barrels/day
water, 100 million standard cubic feet/day gas |
Benefits Realized:
- All spools shop-fabricated point-to-point (no field
welds), with 99.5% success.
- Model used for fabrication sequencing.
- Less than 2% change orders in fabrication.
- Almost no excess materials in fabrication yard. An
example project executed by others at the same time had
$2 million worth of excess materials.
