AMEC Paragon provides a full range of civil
and structural engineering and design/drafting capabilities
for the upstream oil and gas industry. We design everything
from onshore grass-roots civil developments to marginal
offshore field developments with minimal structures,
full-service drilling and production platforms, and
deepwater subsea manifolds.
Seamless Effort
We can manage fabrication, transportation,
and installation for all of our projects. Our fully
coordinated design effort includes inputs from the client,
fabricator, and installer, creating a continuous rapport
to ensure that the design is complete and incorporates
all available data. The resulting seamless design effort
ensures the best results for our clients.
Modular Design
AMEC Paragon's civil and structural engineers
often develop modular process and compressor units to
ease equipment transportation and installation for onshore
and offshore developments. For projects requiring transportation
to remote areas and other challenging locations, we
design compact modules that are specifically configured
to meet restrictive size and weight limits. Modularization
also allows us to test the equipment at the fabrication
yard to ensure that it is fully functioning before it
is transported to the job site.
Buildings
Our engineers and designers provide complete layout
and design services for buildings, for both onshore
and offshore, whether they are site-erected (stick-built)
or modular.
OFFSHORE CAPABILITIES
Whether the development involves a green-field
site or an addition to an existing facility, we have
the engineering capability to provide complete civil
and structural design services.
Coastal Structures
The design of coastal structures, which provide interfaces
between onshore and offshore facilities, requires a
unique understanding of both types of design. Design
for these areas is constrained by factors such as wave
action, beach erosion, and environmental concerns.
Offshore Capabilities
AMEC Paragon's offshore structural engineering
capabilities encompass fixed and floating offshore structures,
minimal developments, and subsea systems.
Fixed and Floating Offshore Structures:
Our structural engineers have designed structures for
water depths of more than 1000 feet and decks with installed
weights of more than 3500 tons. As the industry moves
into deeper waters, AMEC Paragon's structural capabilities
are following suit. We provide design and installation
plans for subsea templates and manifolds as well as
topsides facilities for floating support structures
(spars, FPSOs, or TLPs) and fixed-base structures (compliant
towers).
Minimal Developments:
AMEC Paragon's many years of work on minimal
platform installations have resulted in the creation
of three proprietary designs:
- RAM (Reliable Alternative Marine) tripod structure
- Delta Tower braced caisson
- VEST (Very Economical Structural Template) mini-jacket
As with any AMEC Paragon work, AMEC Paragon's philosophy
is to approach minimal facility design from the client's
perspective and to develop a solution to the problem
that will best meet the client's requirements and expectations.
This solution may or may not involve any of AMEC Paragon's
proprietary minimal designs.
Subsea Systems:
Our engineers clearly understand design requirements
for installation, pile support systems and connections,
ROV access, and protective structures for subsea installations.
Working closely with our subsea engineering department,
our structural engineers provide complete, fully functional
subsea facilities design services. |
